So as Ariel and I were parking at the Bountiful Temple, she pulls out her laptop and a cd. Then she proceeds to tell me that Adam made me a DVD. He wanted me to watch on the temple grounds because he was sad and felt bad that he was missing my birthday. I thought oh he's so cute as Ariel was telling me all of this.So then we started to get out of the car and all the sudden it got super windy and started to rain and I thought, great of course it's going to do this right now when I'm supposed to watch a video and take pictures. But it was weird because as soon as I sat down on a bench on the temple grounds the weather seemed to calm down.
So I started to watch the video and I'm not going to lie, as soon as I turned it on and saw Adam and heard his voice, I started to cry because I missed him so much! Then I got to the end and I saw something out of the corner of my eye so I turned and looked. Right then I saw Adam coming around the corner!! I was so surprised and happy, you have no idea! I ran to him and gave him the biggest hug and kiss! Then he asked me if I wanted to go for a walk, so I said sure. So we went for a walk around the temple grounds and Adam was kind of shaking but I honestly didn't think anything of it. Then all the sudden he stopped and faced me and he grabbed both of my hands and started pulling me towards him then pushing me away. Then he started fidgeting with his pocket and I just thought he was playing with his phone. Then he started telling me how much he loved me and how he wanted to be with me forever and how I made him want to be a better person. Then he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring! This totally surprised me and caught me off guard because I didn't know he had even gone ring shopping yet. Especially since 3 days earlier my sister took the picture of the ring I wanted out of my wallet and said Adam is finally ready to go ring shopping, I guess that was just to through me off. So this was a huge surprise and the ring was absolutely gorgeous! I loved it and was more beautiful than I could even picture for myself. I was so happy! Then I looked over and saw that my little sister had been filming us the whole time. Then Adam and I finished walking around the temple grounds and took pictures, it was awesome. It turned out to be an awesome birthday (even if I was sick). I got engaged to the most amazing man and he got me a puppy for my birthday and he came home and surprised me on my birthday, it was the best. It is definitely a birthday that I will never forget!
Then 2 days later was my dad's wedding and my sister and I were brides maids. Right before the wedding though, I got supper supper sick and I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital because I was so sick. But luckily I didn't and I made it to the wedding, it was a nice wedding that was outside. It was fun seeing all my family. It was just weird that my dad was married again... but maybe it's just me. Also I was scared that she was going to be the wicked step mother that you hear about lots of times ( and I was kind of right.....). Then about a week after my dad's wedding, Adam and I drove to Oregon to meet his family and visit his grandma's and his aunts and uncles and cousins. I was excited because I had never been to Oregon before and I just thought it was going to be fun to get away and get to hang out with my fiance for a week. And I was right, it was such a fun vacation. We went to the coast for a few days and went crabbing and swimming and it was just so much fun. Then we went back and hung out with Adam's family which was a lot of fun as well and it was fun getting to know his family. Oregon was a much needed vacation, even if there were a few rough patches it was still a lot of fun!
Then the rest of the summer was spent planning the wedding that was happening Oct. 18!!! I couldn't wait! I was so excited to finally get to marry the man of my dreams! In August, Adam and I got our engagements taken at the Utah State Hospital, it was so pretty up there and it was a lot of fun. Then in September I got my bridals taken down at Utah Lake, it was nice down there but I got eaten a live from mosquitoes that stunk big time. Then in the middle of September, I got a call from eternity bridal which is where I got my most amazing and beautiful wedding dress from (it is totally me). I had missed the call because I was at work but I went and got the voicemail and in the voicemail, the girl that called me said that if I wanted my dress that I needed to go there right then and pick it up. Because somethings had happened and the store was closing forever and if I wanted to get my dress I had to go get it right then. When I heard this I started to cry and panic because I was at work and I didn't know how I was going to go get my dress. That's when my supervisor told me to leave right then and to go get my wedding dress because that was super important! I was so happy, grateful, and relieved when he told me I could leave to go get my dress. I left so fast and drove so fast I couldn't believe I was already at the store when I pulled up.
As I was parking there were cop cars in the parking lot, the dresses were out of the windows, and the doors were closed. When I saw this I thought that I was to late and I got a little scared that I wasn't going to be able to get my dress. But then I went and tried the door anyways and it was unlocked thank goodness, so I hurried inside and picked up my dress. I almost threw up when I got my dress and went back to my car because I was so close to not getting it. Then I realized I didn't pay for my alterations which was going to be about 275-300 dollars and I mentioned this and they told me to just take my dress and go. It was kind of a blessing that I didn't have to pay for alterations because I wasn't completely sure where I was going to come up with the money since I wasn't planning on picking up my dress for another 2 weeks. Then I put my dress in my car and drove to my mom's work so that she could watch my dress while I went back to work. Then my mom's bosses came out and ushered me back to their office and told me to put my dress back there because it would be safe back there and no one would touch. They were so nice and I was so relieved that I had my dress and it was safe. Now I only had to wait about a month to finally get to wear and let my fiance see it, I couldn't wait! But there was still so much planning to do and things to get done in the one month before our wedding, still at times though I couldn't believe this was actually happening to me, I was actually getting married yay! :)
